5. Discussion: MATERIALISM & SPIRITUALITY It is very easy to get locked into the material world, its riches and power, which feed our ego. Our task is to assume responsibility for ourselves and contribute to the common good.
We are very powerful. We have mind power to work with subdue influences or energies. We are energy. All creation is energy. The Infinite or Great Spirit is energy. Our thoughts are energy. There is subtle and gross energy. Thoughts are subtle. Matter is gross. We can use energies, thought projections, to create our realities, to create the world around us. That is a lot of responsibility.
Do we give out thoughts that feed our egos? Do we put out constant negative thoughts? During the week, how many of each do we project? Or do we project positive thoughts, for ourselves and towards others. Are our thoughts concerned with the highest good of humankind and other living beings?
Most of us do the former, put out negative thoughts. But this special meditation service is a special effort to bring balance, to willfully put out positive thoughts.
There are many laws at work. The Law of Right Human Relations and Principle of Goodwill are paramount. The Law of Right Human Relations is concerned with the welfare of others and world peace. The Principle of Goodwill is the basic intention to good.
We can will good to promote right human relations. We can use a complete thought form, built by the balanced fusion of thought feeling, imagination and will. There are tools we can use to create a complete thought form: Concentration, repetitive affirmations, contemplation, creative visualization and meditation.
